Crystal Thompson

Crystal Thompson graduated from the University of Alberta with Dean’s List Standing in 1999 and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2001. Crystal initially practiced in Central Alberta in the areas of Family Law and Child Protection. She has spent a great deal of time in court including participating in lengthy complex trials. She has represented clients in all levels of Alberta Courts and was the lawyer in a famous case that went to the Supreme Court of Canada. And her client won!

Crystal made the move to Calgary, joining Balbi & Company, in 2005 and has continued practicing in the area of Family Law ever since. She enjoys this area of law, particularly the challenges of advocacy work, court applications and trials. Crystal is most satisfied when she is able to assist parents in resolving their legal issues in a non- adversarial manner, allowing them to parent their children in a cooperative manner.

Crystal has instructed various legal seminars including the Parenting After Separation Seminar.

Her personal passions include spending time in the mountains, camping, hiking and writing.
